Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law Announces Prestigious Barbara Huber Scholarship 2025. The Max Planck Institute for the Study of Crime, Security and Law has officially opened applications for the Barbara Huber Scholarship Program 2025, offering a prestigious research opportunity for international academics. This scholarship supports innovative research in Criminology, Public Law, and Criminal Law and provides a fully funded research stay in Germany.
Who Can Apply?
The Barbara Huber Scholarship is open to outstanding scholars from foreign research institutions conducting particularly innovative and impactful research that advances scientific progress through fresh perspectives, novel questions, or groundbreaking findings. Each department may award only one scholarship per calendar year.
Scholarship Benefits
Selected scholars will be awarded a fully funded research stay at the Max Planck Institute for a duration of two to six months. The scholarship covers:
- EUR 1,365 per month for doctoral candidates
- EUR 2,500 per month for postdoctoral researchers
- EUR 3,000 per month for professors and experienced researchers
- Additional grants for participation in academic events or further research activities in Germany or other European countries.
Eligibility & Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
- List of academic publications
- Up to three German or English publications
- A detailed research project description (5–10 pages).
Health Insurance Requirement
All scholarship recipients must have valid health insurance for the duration of their stay. Proof of adequate coverage must be provided before commencing the scholarship.
