Pakistani-Owned Tech Company Sold for $1.7 Billion

Securiti AI, a company started by Pakistani entrepreneur Rehan Jalil, has been sold to data-resilience firm Veeam for about $1.7 billion. The deal will bring Securiti’s data-security and AI-governance tools into Veeam’s product line and marks a very large exit for a Pakistani founder.

Securiti AI builds tools that help companies find, protect, and control data across cloud services and SaaS apps. Its key product is called the Data Command Center, which customers use to manage privacy, governance, and security for data used in AI systems. Veeam says adding those tools will strengthen its ability to protect business data as companies adopt more AI.

Under the agreement, Securiti’s founder and CEO, Rehan Jalil, will take a senior role at Veeam as president of security and AI after the deal closes. The transaction is structured as a mix of cash and stock and is expected to finish later this year, subject to normal approvals.

Companies want tools that make sure AI systems use the right data, protect privacy, and follow rules, and that demand is helping push up the value of firms that provide those services, such as Securiti AI.

For Pakistan’s tech community, this sale is being seen as a big success story, showcasing the growing influence of Pakistani talent in Silicon Valley and beyond. Rehan Jalil has a long track record in cloud security and founded Securiti to focus on safe use of data in the AI age.

Veeam says it will continue to sell Securiti’s products and will work to add Securiti’s privacy, governance, and AI-trust features into Veeam’s backup and recovery offerings. The companies say the combined products will help customers speed safe AI adoption while keeping data protected and recoverable.
