The Prime Minister’s reiteration of the government’s commitment to eliminate terrorists

The Prime Minister has reiterated the government’s determination to eliminate terrorists for peace and prosperity in the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has reiterated the government’s determination to end the scourge of terrorism.

Today (Tuesday) while presiding over the meeting of the Apex Committee on National Action Plan in Islamabad, he said that we have no other way for peace and development in the country except to eradicate the terrorist elements.

Describing terrorism as a major challenge, Shahbaz Sharif expressed concern over the increase in terrorist attacks in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Expressing satisfaction over the improvement in the economic indicators, the Prime Minister has said that the economy is gradually moving towards stability.

He said that the country’s stock exchange is touching historic highs, while inflation has come down to single digits and the policy rate has come down from 22 percent to 15 percent.

He said that there has been a record increase in IT exports while remittances have also increased significantly.

Shahbaz Sharif praised the role of provincial governments and institutions in moving the economy towards improvement.

The Prime Minister said that efforts are being made to increase the scope of taxation and he emphasized that the problem of corruption and large-scale tax evasion must be solved to rid the country of debt.

Shahbaz Sharif emphasized the need for joint efforts to take the country forward on the path of development.
